about

Post-structuralist musician Apologist: Born east of Appalachia in the 1980’s. In Philadelphia, embarked on a sabbatical from human contact that produced "Houston" (No Rent Records)... musical work of an androgynous nature dealing with protosexual themes, continuing with "Reception." Apologist is also a prolific collector of oppressive sound.

For most of 2010, led a hippie cult to find in the process that such an organization is best limited to self. Worked through these findings, on the lam from followers, in New Orleans, 2012.

By early 2014, thinking about music, and if utilization of techniques of abstraction and Cubism in sound could have merit it all. Later, now, much of Apologist’s work thus renders virtually unintelligible to even educated interpreters of process in recorded music.

Apologist was once one of those admirable do-alls, aggressive executors of all work, thoroughly occupied with the welfare of their employers and of themselves, while firmly convinced that everything before her eyes should by contrast become remains of a scorched earth. “Oh but it is, dear,” was once her answer to any question.

"Reception," then, is a human processing dark thoughts/feelings/experiences, reducing such impulses into something pretty, consistent with descriptions of her work as “highly confessional ambient”.
